Taking off a pair of fairly new Thrush welded 17656 mufflers for a set of dynomax 17733 super turbos. I'm losing my hearing in my left ear and I'm hoping these quiet the thing down and stop the drone. Anybody have any experience with either of these? Is there a flow difference that anyone is aware of? I think the Thrush mufflers I have are copies of flowmaster 40s.

My car had Flowmaster 40's on it when I bought it, way too much drone. I put the Super Turbos on and, with tail pipes they were way too quiet. Hardly hear it idle. I swapped them out for Pypes Race Pro, much better sound no drone inside, not too loud.

That's kinda what I'm looking for, something quiet or as quiet as it can be with an 11 to 1 406 and the old 302ho6 cam which is pretty radical.
These Thrush welded mufflers are loud as hell and the drone is kicking my azz. I do have tail pipes that exit behind the rear tires.

I second the Pypes Race Pros. Nice low rumble at idle, no drone at cruise, and they open up when you mash the loud pedal.

I took off the Flowmaster 50's last year for a set of the Super Turbos. They have the 14" long case and are very quiet at idle. However, they did end up a bit louder under power than I thought they would. Not wot, normal driving at 3000 rpm on the street. I am installing hushmat soon and hope it solves the issue. The FM drone isn't there, but the volume is a bit more than I wanted. HTH. Good luck.

The DynoMax Welded Ultra-Flo s will work nicely for what you want.
