Switching to gauges from warning lights

I am continuing on with this swap, but need some help with the following:

1. Temp sending unit needs to replace temp switch. The old switch has two prongs (as seen in attached photo) and the new sending unit has only single pole with fastening nut. Looks like one wire is green/white while the other is green. Does the green/white connect to the new temp sender? And then what for the other green wire?

I have not done this myself but if I was going to I would look at the engine compartment wiring diagram with gauges and replicate that.

I have done this on a couple of cars and just disconnect one wire at both ends. The analog gauge has one post connected to the sender and the other to ground. If it doesn't work correctly (pegged), reverse the connections.
