Tail pipes--2.5 vs 3 inch

    How many of you are running 2.5 inch or 3 inch tail pipes? I prefer 3 inch since it is behind a 630hp big block.

    What are you running?

    I also want them to be hidden rather than the chrome tip.

    Likely having a local shop bend me some, but want to see what you guys have.

    2.5" for an original 73Z motor with headers, H-bar, and glasspacks. My exhaust is stainless steel, so I just polish the tail pipe area, no chrome. They look a lot like chrome though.
    If I had a big block with that power, I'd use at least 3". Some people just turn their exhaust downward after the mufflers in front of the rear end. I don't know much about the transverse muffler system because I never had one on my cars.

    That is what I have now, I just want the sound a little toward the rear now LOL, its a little loud

    yeah I currently have 3 inch x pipe on it that dumps after the mufflers. I want to make it a little quieter

    I guess the guy at ARH pushed me into 3" exhaust www right lol.

    I'd love to see that same test with 3" mids and 2.5" tails. Test the exhaust cools and needs less pipe at the end

    It is quieter going from bullets to magnaflow mufflers, but I wouldn't mind a tad bit quieter

    I’d do 3” to mufflers then 2.5 out , 3” is just to hollow sounding to me, I didn’t like it and took it off. I got the cross flow now which is nice 2.5”
