Oh,, and because I'm a lazy old fart... I run tubes,, tubes in the slicks, tubes n the front runners... I simply HATE futzing with tire pressure 2 and 3,, or 5 times between rounds. Before tech check PSI ,, After the first round I set PSI as quick as I get back to the pit. Then I only check them every other lap unless I have one side in the sun,, or the air temp climbs horrifically. But my pile of junk will pull 1.2 sixtys at 11 psi or 8.5psi,, it don't care.

The truck was the same way,, WAY too much tire but the pig dead hooked (and ate parts) but with a 17x33 slick and TUBES it didn't care .. 1.4 sixtys (10.60ET) pretty consistently. Truck was 3630 pounds,, Nova is now 2860 pounds. So maybe the porkers like tubes.. I don't know.

Sorry, got a bit off track hu.

I had no idea so many guys still used tubes???
I stopped using them in the late 80's, when slicks still had tubes required molded in.
For one it was a pain in the ass, 2nd, I was cheap & poor back then.

I really don;t know anyone that uses tubes anymore??

I never have leak issues that bad to make it worth using on the Camaro's.
The Pro-Mod has bolt together wheels, and those do leak bad, but still not dealing with tubes.

Hell, even my tubes bleed off air!

Marv....Im sure you noticed the RPM Im trying to get down to...lol
Ill go to a 29x10 just because you brought it up. But didn't Dana run a 9 inch slick in my setup....with slapper bars?
As far as traction goes...my brand new Cal tracs with split monos and delalum bushings are still waiting for their maiden voyage.

Im hoping for more air time than the hop that Im getting...
