I plan on changing to the U14 gauge setup due to my 74 Z28 coming original with the idiot lights in it. Will my original type spaded temperature sending switch be correct to use when changing to an original temperature gauge?
    Thanks,
    George

No the sender is different. Here is the one you need to work with the U14 temp gauge. It’s at O’rileys “BWD WT359”. I have posted this quite a few time for other member doing the swap. I had gotten the number from a member here when I did the Change over a few years ago.

I have tried both those #s and my gauge reads a bit less then the actual temp with the BWD 359 being a bit closer, by the way I did not know that you could get a Z28 without factory gauges I always thought that the gauges were part of the z28 performance option?

In '74, believe it or not, you paid extra for gauges even with the z28 option. However gauges were included if you ordered the type LT option.

Anybody know of a sender for gauges that has a 3/8 NPT thread? The dart heads in my car have this and not the larger NPT in the factory heads. I tried TS66 for an 87 Camaro but the gauge doesn't register (the gauge does peg when I ground it).

The one I listed in post #2 is a 3/8 pipe thread.
