I said the same thing til my wife found the stupid tick.
I still have a small real one in my shop. And where I live, I'm surrounded by evergreens, pines, cedar everywhere I go.

One thing we do before we bring the tree inside is to give it a high pressure wash.

Ticks seem to be hardy little devils. Although we stop giving our dogs flea and tick treatments once the first freeze hits. The vets around here seem to agree with that. Maybe the ticks don't die when the cold hits, they just don't move around. Unless they're frozen in place to a tree and one moves said tree inside?
