To me the Dodge/Chrysler cars were the poor mans car. They always seemed to be cheaper than the GM's & Fords.
The 1970 Cuda & challenger were a decent looking car. I think they were just a couple of years to late hitting the market before the musclecar scene started to die off because of the government and insurance companies... then the gas crisis. I was a little to young yet to experience the peak of the late 60's, early 70's but got to enjoy the decline of the mid & late 70's.

Many years back at MCACN show there was an original 1968 L88 Vette on display right up front. It was a street race car from LA and raced several years without ever loosing a race!.. untill it's last race when it blew the engine. After that it was parked and never came out again. It beat everything including Hemi's.
Somewhere I have pictures of it.

When I win the Lottery I have 2 Mopars on my list. A 70 440-6 Challenger and a 70 440-6 Cuda and maybe a 68-69 440-6 Road Runner. Plus I will have several Z/28’s and only 1 Chevelle which is the 70 L78 with the ZL2 flapper.

In HS, neighborhood "door knob" had your #1 (new); both were entertaining.

SOLD!

I watched the playback of that auction last night, pretty interesting.

Way back in the 1980s, when my wife and I were working at TRW, a technician my wife was friendly with told my wife a relative of his had a 426 hemi 'Cuda stored in an old Detroit garage, in a place no one would think of to look for a valuable car. I wonder now, if this was the same car, only someone got 'Cuda and Challenger mixed up.
