I'm sorry I can't help you with your questions but great work. What did you finally use to get all the insulation off the interior? I am trying to find a good way to remove all that crap.
Thank you.
I used a couple (Most of them broke along the way) of 1$ scrappers - especially for the old rubber-kind sealant and the jute pads that were glued.
For the rest, I used a couple of wire wheels of different sizes and different toughness levels. - Think it is the best way if you are not about to sandblast your car.
In the end - degreaser on all of the floor.

Few tips -
Guess those stuff are not so healthy.
Wear long sleeves shirt, gloves, mask, eye protection, and headphones (Mine 3m are Bluetooth connected, and with Spotify on it really made it much easier!).
Open both of the doors and set a ventilator at your back. It will cool you down while working hard and circulate the air so all the dust won't be in your face.
If you have a dash, headliner, etc. inside - mask it with tape and nylon since the old sealant will probably spread around and stick to other parts inside the car.
Don't rub the wire wheels hard so you won't damage the floor (or any other metal) thickness. Most of the dirt got off easy. Watch out for the harness cables (Trust me with this one!).

It will take a couple of hours (for me it took way to long cause I was lazy) but man, it was worth it!

Hi guys
I'm at the final steps of the car...
Right now I'm doing insulation and soundproofing.
I want to start rebuilding the interior back and put everything in place. Since those plastics are really old and gentle I want to do it in one shot and not play with them too much.
Any tips for rebuilding?
Does anyone remember the rebuilding order of the parts? I'm assuming I should start with the headliner and build myself down.
I do remember that there were those 2 openings where the kick panels were there and there were some metal parts there that I should install prior to the plastics right?
And the handbrake release lever comes after the panels?

Another day another job is done.
Put some polyurethane sealant between metal sheets gaps and on some weldings and then additionally put on fiberglass and epoxy putty I when doing the POR-15, then I put some sealent around the rear seat hooks and the bases of the harness hooks cause - why not?
Hope I didn't forget anything :p

I don't know how many people read my posts here. But I want to recommend some products.

A friend of mine has an old 4x4 that he really cares about and he's a computer guy so I talked with him about GPS trackers.
He recommended to me a product that he ordered from Aliexpress... I usually don't buy things from Alli, especially ones I want to keep working on for a long period but he is using it since 2016 and he said it always works and never fails and it really has sensitive reliable alert.
I ordered it a couple of days ago and its specifications do sound good. It is around 70$ and requires a SIM card of course (Here the fee for a basic SIM is around 3-4$ a month).
There may be cheaper ones - I'm not familiar with - but seems like a recommended reliable product

I also ordered the Azdome 3 channel dashcam (with the HW accessory) since the reviews seem nice and footage from the cam on YouTube looks great.
I searched for a 3-way camera that in case of alerts from the GPS tracker I can watch my cam from the app.

Those are my 2 cents... (With all other safety measures I took - Removable steering wheel, Ignition switch etc.)

4 years from last working... I start the engine today after cleaning the gas tank and replacing all of the hoses.
I'm done with insulations and all the electricity seems to work fine.
All is left if to assemble the interior...

I had a small issue with the distributor... It connector is broken so the ground wasn't good... Now I need to find a new connector so it will be reliable.
If anyone can identify this distributor and the connector if will help me to look for a new connector....
