Thank you.I'm sorry I can't help you with your questions but great work. What did you finally use to get all the insulation off the interior? I am trying to find a good way to remove all that crap.
I used a couple (Most of them broke along the way) of 1$ scrappers - especially for the old rubber-kind sealant and the jute pads that were glued.
For the rest, I used a couple of wire wheels of different sizes and different toughness levels. - Think it is the best way if you are not about to sandblast your car.
In the end - degreaser on all of the floor.
Few tips -
Guess those stuff are not so healthy.
Wear long sleeves shirt, gloves, mask, eye protection, and headphones (Mine 3m are Bluetooth connected, and with Spotify on it really made it much easier!).
Open both of the doors and set a ventilator at your back. It will cool you down while working hard and circulate the air so all the dust won't be in your face.
If you have a dash, headliner, etc. inside - mask it with tape and nylon since the old sealant will probably spread around and stick to other parts inside the car.
Don't rub the wire wheels hard so you won't damage the floor (or any other metal) thickness. Most of the dirt got off easy. Watch out for the harness cables (Trust me with this one!).
It will take a couple of hours (for me it took way to long cause I was lazy) but man, it was worth it!
