I have 71 Camaro . On the build sheet it has N33 Tilt steering and also M20 4speed transmission, another member said both options cannot be ordered together, is this correct. As the build sheet states, both are in the car.

The only exclusion I seem to remember about tilt wheel was in first gens I think you had to have power steering? Not a first gen expert so maybe that’s not correct.

Most interesting. My '74 has both tilt wheel and 4sp T10 trans.

Edit - McCune's comment made me look up the equivalent '74 Camaro document and low and behold it also says tilt available only with auto trans and clearly that's incorrect.

That makes no sense to me.
I don't see how the two options could be related or why one would prohibit the availability of the other.

Interesting...the GM Heritage papers for the '70 Camaro does not limit RPO N33 to automatics only....or power steering.

The only reason I can see is the manual steering cars have much higher effort and the engineers feared the swivel in the tilt mechanism may not live at high tilt angles.

^ I can understand the concern with manual steering and tilt wheel.

But that has nothing to do with tilt wheel and a manual transmission. (Which is what the original post was about.)

I ordered my 78 Z/28 with tilt and 4 speed. Love them both, just wished I had ordered the console.
