Just read that this morning. A friend of my brother had a similar experience driving his Tesla from Cali to AZ
Why can't they focus on hybrids? I had a really nice Camry that was great on gas and charged the battery while driving.

I read that this morning too. I'm sure if he knew up front the pitfalls of owning an EV, he would have chosen a hybrid or full blown ICE. I believe they're an expensive fad. Reading EV related "tales of woe" like this one reinforce my thoughts on why owning an EV is a bad idea.

On a road trip last week, saw a Tesla stranded on a busy 400 series highway, flashers on. Stopped to see if it was anything I could help with (tire etc), but driver said he was out of juice, tow enroute. A very bitter man. I didn't expect a hug, but he was not happy to see me.

Should have left that $115k pile of Ford in the garage and rented a Tahoe.

lol That dude would have been better off just leaving the EV in his garage, to help power his house with when the electricity goes out in the winter. Ka ching!
