Too short to work under hood!

I'm at that height where I'm too short to look down the distributor hole (to see the oil pump) but plenty tall enough to bang my head on the hood latch.
You and I must be about the same height Terry.

I got my Grandmother's 56 a couple years ago. I'm sure you know the shape of a tri-five hood. That was a bloody learning curve.

OP, I bought an aluminum folding leg stool at Horible Freight, about 14" high that I use quite often. I have 2" lowering springs on my Camaro, so reaching anything under the hood now is no issue.

This got me thinking about a harness and sling, like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. Sorry- not helpful, I know.

A full body harness and an engine hoist might work. ;)

You would need someone to push the engine hoist for you and hand you tools.

You wouldn't have enough room to do anything unless you took the hood off.

Found some things are hard on my back because the car sits low, so I have two 4 x 4 sandwiched together that I put under the front tires, when doing plugs and other things like wiring. Distributors are fun, I'm 5'7" so I find myself laying across the top of the fender with a fender cover on it.
