Touch Screen Radio

My son wanted a modern stereo that would link to his phone and he wanted a touch screen. We found this touch screen from Boss that mounts in a single din opening. It is a 9 inch screen and fits nice. We went with the Boss for price and the fact that the screen would adjust up and down on its mount just letting it clear the dash.

I did have to level the cage for the single DIN part. The built in fold out tabs worked great and it took a 1/4 inch on the top and flush on the bottom to get everything to fit.

It is a Boss BE9ACP. The Apple Car play works well and we were able to adjust the EQ to get things sounding nice. It does not have a built in DSP but that is the only thing I have found missing compared to the Pioneers in my cars.

Very pleased with the unit and it was the size and spacings that we needed. The top of the screen gently rests on the bottom of the dash. From the front it looks nearly built in.

@JeremyM , do you have more of a side view pic of how the install worked out? I was considering the same thing but wasn't sure how to make the spacing work out since the mounting face in the dash is in a pocket. Did you have to space out the face of the unit somehow?

X3. Looking to do the same thing. Looks like the Single DIN chassis needs to be as low in the original pocket (as you stated) to make it fit. Probably screen to chassis hook up extended as far out of the chassis as it can. Most of these units have some ability to push the screen out away from the front of the chassis some distance. Is you screen tip forward at the top slightly due to fit or preference.

great job and I think you can help a number of us.

Might buy the extended warranty on that brand if not a lot of money. Had bad luck with three Boss units, two radios and an amp. Walmart specials.

Looks like a nice install.

I put a Boss radio in my Jeep last year. I had an issue with it, and they replaced it for free. I bought it through Crutchfield. I'd buy a Boss again.
