Traction bars- UMI vs CPP vs Caltrac, etc

    It says this however about the CAT5 bearings
    Works better with flat springs, no overly arched springs

    Yes. Others have said the same, and I dont doubt they were flawed. I had mine in for 5 years without issue, but I never had any traction, and I likely didnt put the miles on that you did. I did however probably put on 500 miles of burnouts and donuts which I couldn't do without them!

    Those UMI bars look interesting, but I like the spherical bearing in front. Following this thread to see how it goes.

    If the car will be more street driven, I'd go with Slide-A-Links over the Caltracs. You can unload the SAL's to the point where it will allow for full suspension travel. At the track...just tighten and preload where you want it.

    The Caltracs are designed to achieve the same in regard to axle and leaf twist, but you are limited on how much load you can take out of them so the ride quality suffers on the street.
