Transverse muffler to rear end cover clearance

I was thinking that these images may be helpful to people considering running a transverse muffler with an aftermarket cast aliminum cover.

Mine was a bit tighter than that. Actually doesn't hit but took some doing to get it just exactly right. Couple pics. (need some cleaning and detailing under there)

I decided to use the stock cover. I think my Pypes muffler would have hit. It does look like you clear the sway bar, which I was unsure of as well.

That is really a snug fit.
But it DOES fit!

My 69 has a pypes exhaust. I went back to the stock 12 bolt cover

My cover clears my Pypes transverse system and 7/8" sway bar with plenty of room to spare. Granted these pics are when the car is in the air, but even on the ground on all 4 wheels, there's still a lot of clearance.

Could you post an image of the rear tank strap? I an using a TanksInc tank and it looks like yours is stock. I would like to identify the cause of the huge difference in clearance between tom3/myself and your car. It could the front to rear positioning of the fuel tank.
