Turbo 350 shifts very hard

    Lack of vacuum at the modulator will cause hard shifts at high rpm. Check for the presence of vacuum at the modulator. It may be a leak in the hose or use of ported vacuum - it should be full manifold vacuum.

    Look in to the modulator where vacuum line goes in, adjust the screw inside there.

    What kit did the (I'm assuming) transmission shop use to rebuild it?

    Harsh shifts could be the accumulator and/or check balls left out.
