Well I have good news and bad news. Part of my fuel issue is that the aeromotive pump is a POS. I've never had a fuel pump die before I even got to drive a vehicle but this one did. Good news is I have narrowed my tuning issues down. Obviously I do not have enough fuel.

I dont know if the pump failure is on me or Aeromotive. I do know I was a bit worried for a minute since I can't see the fuel pressure gauge and my fans are loud from inside. Dumping some fuel down the carb and tapping the pump always works. Pump is for sure dead. It may be an installation error. If that's the case, I'm ordering a fuel cell like yesterday, cutting the trunk open, making a rear firewall, bolting the battery in, and ripping the old (new) tank out. Also, gonna shove the pump in the fuel cell. I hate to do this to this car but I want it to do cool stuff. It's also not worth anything.

I swear stuff just isnt made to the same standard as it used to. I'm surprised by Aeromotive, considering the price premium they charge, but my first Jegs pump failed before I really even got on the road. The dang thing would lose prime somehow. I replaced it and re-did the whole fuel system and it seems to be fine now, but after having gotten stuck on the side of the road pressurizing the fuel tank by blowing through a hose has made me a bit apprehensive! At least I was just bombing around the neighborhood so it's not like I was too far away.

Yes. I was on the side of the road looking like I was huffing my fuel tank with a hose...

If only they made stuff like they used to.

I don't get why people think Aeromotive makes amazing stuff. The few parts I have had that had their name on it were mediocre at best. I have read countless reviews on them as well and all seem to be pretty negative

Sure did lol. Pressurizing the tank just a little forced the fuel up into the pickup which allowed the pump to get primed again. Then I just had to bum rush home and hope it didn't die again before I got there.

A new pump and a slightly revised fuel system seems to have cured the issue.

I can say for sure that this does work. It's not fun but it works.

To be fair I don't think Aeromotive makes amazing stuff. I did expect a working fuel pump. If I didn't need a bypass regulator and a pump capable of shoving plenty of fuel around, I'd just run a mechanical Holley pump like I have been for almost 20 years. I just went with the Aeromotive because they claimed it would do what I want. Now, even when I get it back, I don't know if I'll trust it. I am going to drop it down a bit lower to be more inline with the sump. If it quits when I'm leaving the line or midway down the track, well I'm not going to cry, but I won't have an engine any longer.
