Hello, I am currently in the process of swapping my highway gears out for a set of 3.73 posi. I have a completely separate rear axle for it and am looking at swapping to four u-bolts instead of t-bolt/u-bolt combo. Is there anything I need to worry about? Are the u-bolts different diameters and require the holes to be larger? If you have done this and have had to do things to prep, I’d like to know! Thanks!

You may have to relocate the clips which hold the metal brake lines. (The clips are welded to the top of the axle housing.)

The diameter of the required holes in the lower plates depends upon the diameter of U-bolts you use.

Factory U-bolts will slip right on. I simply pounded the brake clip flat and didn't think much more about it.
