The 302 is the original motor that came in the car
price just went up just sayin'.... koool
The 302 was the Z/28 engine used in 1967-69 and all were 4 speeds.
Here is my British Green 68 Z/28 I sold in 1974 and a friend of mine is the current owner.
Beautiful car! You ever wish you had never sold it? Mine is Fathom green
Yes and no. My ultimate is the 69 RS Z/28 then the 70 SS396/375 L78 Chevelle with the ZL2 Cowl Induction Flapper Hood with the screaming M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed Muncie. Bought and sold it for $3,000.
I have a '71 Z28 that was built in Van Nuys CA in May of 1971. It has special paint. ZP3 option code on the build sheet. I understand that on the '71 cars that were built in Norwood, they did the double dash on the cowl tag like you are describing. Not sure for '69. The Van Nuys plant actually put the paint code on the cowl tag. Mine is 927-99942. Finally was able to trace it down to Tealmist Gray. (Buick Color). Don't have the build sheet do you? May have more information.

I finally got from my brother and dragged out of the bushes. damn shame but at least I can touch it.
