LOOKING FOR SOME THOUGHTS!! Below is basically how my Camaro looks right now. When I got the hood I had thoughts of having it painted to match the rest of the car with the patina on the hood. Well, When I put it on "as is" I think the look of the black hood and black top just worked well together. A couple months ago I became friends with a guy who has a custom body shop here in town. We were at a show together this weekend and as we were sitting by the cars he asked me if I'd thought about painting the hood to match the car. I've been surprised by the number of people that have told me NOT to paint the car and just leave it with the original paint, even though it isn't all nice and shiny. This guy won the "Best Paint" award at the show, and even he was saying I should leave it with the "patina look". I do have a rust hole in the lower right rear quarter panel that he is saying we can fix and blend it in with the rest. So my question here is, Do I go ahead and have the hood painted to match the patina of the car and have the rust hole fix and matched also?
