    Hi all,

I have a spare Camaro hood without the scoop in good condition. I'm getting ready to gut it and stick it on my racecar...but before I do so, are Camaro hoods rare/valuable/desirable? I don't want to destroy it if so....I'd use the old wrinkled hood I have that's already gutted and sell the good one. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I think the early hoods are a bit different underneath, not much. If the hood is not cracked or bent at all it might be worth something, not valuable by any means.

Good to hear! I have one gutted hood, but I'm changing the color of the car this season and I want to keep the old bodywork in the old color. OUT WITH THE DYE GRINDER THEN!!!

I picked up a spare hood once for $10... I'd say have some fun with the grinder.

I once saw a guy that gave me soem camaro stuff(so I had to bite my lips and tounge HARD) that cut up a 80-81 Z for a dirt track car. the fender vents were sheet metal screwed in and the air induction hood had a huge hole cut thru scoop and all for the air cleaner about made me cry and puke all at the same time and that was even 14yrs ago when they were a little more plentiful. Worse is he has several other camaros in back that coulda at least donated stock sheetmetal. Fortunately I got to the car that donated its fender vents and front/rear wheel opening flares plus power windows for my 81 before it got dirt tracked.
