Your car is looking fantastic!! I wish I had the time to spend doing as much as possible on my car myself. Hopefully when I get back home, I will be able to get in the garage on a regular basis for a few months and get a bunch of stuff done on mine!

Thanks, the biggest problem I've had lately was no cash to spare for the Camaro after getting laid off. Now that I've got some regular cash coming in, I can start working on it again. My next big step is to get the body media blasted to see just how much steel I'm going to need to replace. While that is getting done, I'm planning on getting the front end together, finish off the repairs to the subframe, blast and coat it once that is done and then start assembling the front suspension and steering components.

I'm definitely getting it blasted! I found fibreglass repair patches in the wheel well area while taking things apart. Depending on how bad they are, it could be a good excuse to go with mini-tubs and wider wheels! I do need to keep the two back seats though, for when I take the family out for a drive.

As someone who loves spray painting I think they came out pretty good!

After doing a bit of scanning through I decided to try something out, I noticed a lot of old school mags had the cast textured look and figured I’d try that with the stock z wheels. Without much knowledge I figured a textured paint Would do the trick and so ...

For this I used rust-oleum texture paint.

It did spray very hard and it’s a very strong smelling paint. Not like your average can where you can lightly press and release, if you do plan on trying this I recommend you keep a good distance.
As for color I decided a flat nickel would give the cast look a nice pop and I think it did, but I wish I had gone with a darker color.

And the end result !

After 2 light textured coats 3 color coats And all sealed up in 3coats of flat clear they came out pretty solid.

Thanks. Yea I do plan on going with stripes and the blacked out tail panel I went to the local paint supply store when I was home and had them match the color.. it turned out a lot brighter than I thought but oh well it's growing in me. Same here man I'm looking to build anathor one in midnight blue with white, kinda like a Baldwin motion clone but that's far down the road. I'm ready to enjoy this thing already.
Great color and amazing work
