Made a trip to the store the other day and came back to a package. I orderd shocks, springs, LCA (Lower Control Arm) del alum bushings and solid body bushings from PTFB. I thought the bushings would fit well, but as always you come across a few surprises. I realized i had a later model DS control arm. Well that didnt stop me from dropp the frame back in the car with help of my father and a buddy of mine.
It was pretty dark last night but i managed to make it work. Today hopefully i can get the motor and most of the front componentes back in.
Thank you all for your support guys! . I will be posting alot more later tonight. I was hoping to move alot faster on this project but family comes first, especially when I have not seen them in a while. Got 10 more day. Lets see what i can get done! Stay tuned
Well as promised. I said id post pics. It was a long night of fighting, guessing and frustration. I could not get the damn motor to mount right. Ended up pulling the trigger on some hooker ls swap mounts. Hopefully i can get em this weekend and make this thing fit. In the meantime i will start the bodywork on the doors and start mounting the front clip back together. Gonna be a buisy week. I also did spray the bottom of the car with a rubber coating and painted the original valve covers in wrinkle black paint.
As always stay tuned hopefully i can get alot more done here.
Hey guys! Quick update here, Well i did manage to spray some poly primer on the driver fender, header panel, valance, trunk, and doors.
I plan to finnish a piece every day this week as i have no room to place them but on the car.
This is the worst one of all so its going to need some body work. I pulled most dents out with a stud welder
Also got a little bit of welding in over the weekend, since the guy before me drilled holes to pull dents i tacked most of them shut ( ill post pics later) so once i get the front clip on i can get the patches on the body done,
picked up a few misc parts from classic industries this weekend as i picked up the correct lower control arms thanks to "alpinemetal" (a member on the site). Wow was it hard to find these lower control arms. He got me linked up to anathor member here and gave me a sweet deal on 5 z28 wheels. I will try and re fresh thos up in the future.
Sandblasted and painted
I tried giving them the hammered textured look but they look like a crappy silver paintjob. Oh well. Here i installed the del alum bushings from ptfb and will get them on the car today so i can wrap up the front end and move on with this slow project. As always stay posted for updates. Still have a long way to go.
