so, is the large, recessed area by a arm on the cleaner looking one, correct?
The one on my car is incorrect for a early 70 Camaro. That’s why I’m working the one I am. The $80k has the wrong inner fender, the $27k has the correct one.

there you go, that's a good start. are those 3 holes around that cut out supposed to be there? do you have access to getting the new piece blasted or some way to remove the rust before welding?
Those holes are not supposed to be there.
Do you think it’s better to fill the holes or make the splice area bigger?
Fill the holes for sure.
This probably as clean as I’ll get it until I get it welded in. Taking this rust off just confirms not to have tried to re-work the rusty fender. Look like the surface of an orange on many areas.
