What are these screws for?

    They weren’t holding anything just screwed into the wiper cowl it’s an 80 113AB83A-B421-4F64-B9DD-9912643B3B43.png

    Doesn't look factory to me... Maybe your cowl was sliced (which it looks like), someone put a screw to hold it down?

    What do you mean sliced? Here’s a picture of it from a distance. I can’t tell anything in that area has been cut on before. I’ve owned it the last 18 years.     Looks like the screw that held a spring-steel grounding strap. The grounding strap had teeth on the end and grounded the hood to the cowl. Looks like the below item

    The cowl cover is actually in really good shape. These screws were in front of it. The ground strap was there (didn’t know that’s what that was) it was held on with a 8mm screw. These were off to themselves on both sides of the car not holding anything.
