I lucked out. She took off the ring, I got everything! Had a GREAT lawyer. Worth every penny.
My lawyer wasn't too bad. Things I missed out on. One issue - by moving back to NY, I couldn't bring my S&W .40 and my AR-15. Never even fired the damn things. Lost tools, well, all kinds of "garage" stuff.
When we first moved to the Sunshine State, I noticed on TV every second commercial was a divorce attorney. Wondered what the hell that was all about. Tough way to find out. One highlite though.....she pays me alimony!
I got divorced in Georgia. They have some very unique divorce laws. The laws are more geared to the party that
f**ked up the worst. In other words the female is held accountable as well. If she messed up the worst, she loses.
And it's not a community property state, so if you see a divorce in your future, move to Ga. 6 months residency required.
Kind of makes you understand OJ Simpson a little better, doesn't it?
