What would make the car ride smoother?
My 79 Z28 has air shocks on rear and 90-10 drag shocks on front and body mount bushings are pretty much gone/deteriorated. This is how car came when I got it. I only drive on street and it is a rough ride when roads aren't really smooth. What would you suggest?

Start with new shocks. You might end up needing springs too

PTFB (sponsor here) offers shocks but I personally haven’t used them.
Thinking about buying a set myself

Rubber, springs, shocks. Start with tires maybe. I put a set of Michelins on my old third gen, huge difference. Monroe Gasmatic shocks are good for ride quality, close to OEM, decent control. New a-frame bushings and body mounts also have a lot to do with ride and road noise. Standard second gen Camaros had a pretty decent ride, Z28s with the Fxx suspension were some stiff.

One of the worst things you can do to a street driven car is to put air shocks on it. They make it almost undrivable. Get rid of them and start with a set of decent street shocks. Those drag shocks on the front are also wrong for street driving. Get rid of them too.
With street shocks, you might find it improves enough that you don't need to go further.
