Any idea what a GM 1979-1981 dash pad new in the box would be worth?

The later dash pads 81-87 are bringing big bucks on Ebay. I just happen to have one still in the box myself.
I am assuming you mean the earlier pads.

Do a search on sold items 81-87 nos c-10 dash pads.
One sold recently for $2000.00!! I am tempted to sell mine.

I don't even see an earlier one listed

The 79-81 dash pads are being reproduced.

I personally don’t know how good the reproduction dashes replicate the originals but a NOS dash should be worth more than the $450-$600 the reproductions sell for.

Put it on eBay and let the bidders determine its value if you are interested in selling it.

(Or... Did you find someone selling a NOS dash and want to know a fair price to pay?)

I think I paid $650 for mine (NOS) about 6 months ago.

Since these cars are more than 40 years old, It is highly unlikely you have someone selling an actual NOS piece from GM.... more than likely you have someone attempting to sell a reproduction part as NOS and charging an arm or a leg for it... that said, original dashpads were made with urethane and after 40years even if it was original, I wouldn't want it in my car.

I paid 400$ for mine from NPD and that was for a '76 2nd gen dashpad with A/C vents

OER sells them for $440.00, every day of the week
    https://www.oerparts.com/product/476641.html

NPD offers them in vinyl or urethane

    https://www.npdlink.com/1967-1981-camaro/interior/dash-pads/vinyl-dash-pads

price ranges from $350 - $400 from NPD

If you try ebay or amazon, you probably will find them cheaper.

    Moral of the story :
Items like these and sheet metal are only made by a very few companies ( 3 or 4 actually for sheet metal )…. shop for the cheapest price possible, try to get free shipping.... they're probably ALL selling the same item from the same supplier no matter who you purchase it from...

If you can get it for a price you can live with and makes you happy, by it!
