ZZ4 shortblock. Spun rod bearings. Definitely needs a rebuild. Crank needs to probably be re-ground. However, the block has never been touched.

Not sure what rebuild cores are going for these days.

One thing I want to do is have Jim Grubs Racing (recommended by Air Flow Research, and local enough to drive there) go through my heads and maybe skim the deck to put a fresh surface on it as well as check the guides and stuff. They quoted me a couple hundred bucks for it.

Figure the proceeds from selling the short block would go for that.

sorry to say...it's worth whatever scrap price is in your area

every "rebuildable" Chevy 350 around here gets scrapped

Probably put it on Craigslist and see what someone would give me for it

Unfortunately, if it is hurt, it is only worth a core price or scrap.

That's the thing. The block and rods are probably fine. Probably just hone the cylinders and put in some new pistons.

I think it has some good value, ZZ4 has a forged crank doesn't it? The problem is, you don't know what's salvageable until you tear it down. You would have to find a buyer who is willing to assume risk.

Just got off hte phone with Jim Grubs racing... he was suggesting putting it in craigslist for 300-400 bucks and yeah, see if someone is willing to bite. I can come down from there.

Yeah, forged steel crank, mid-90's Vortec 4-bolt roller block, powder metal rods, etc... lots of good stuff.

It's on the engine stand, so I can do whatever a buyer would want to see in real time right in front of him.

I think it definitely has some value. I would start at $400 and see what happens. As far as a small block Chevy to build this would be a great one to start with. If I was in the market for a builder it would be what I would look for. I would maybe even buy it to stash it for down the road if it were local. Out of curiosity what's your location?
