When I was a truck driver, I had the pleasure of driving south in NJ on a quiet spring afternoon. I never new there was so much beautiful farm land there. It was a great drive!.
When my late father (a WWII vet) was a boy of 14 (mid depression) he drove trucks from SC to NJ to haul back produce; at that time perhaps east coast's leading Truck Farm volume was NJ. He joined USN a year prior to Pearl ... and stayed 'till '69. I've never driven through NJ; no doubt it's got some good stuff too.
Gonna miss that area? When I'd drive to/from Florida to upstate NY, I'd split in Charlotte and take Rt 81 to 84. I'd then take 84 to 87 North. Why? No Jersey.
