Used sleds are a big risk, specially if you don't know your way around them
Yamaha's are good but as you say, pricey
I not really seen good things from Doo's unless newer than what your looking at .
feel each wheel under the skid for wobbles or missing centers, 50 bucks each
Just look it over good, you will be able to see abuse or lack of maintenance, how clean it is , things like that
I've said for decades, snowmobiling is the most expensive sport there is, considering it entirely depends on snow,Truck and trailer, motels, food, I ended up buying a cabin for the job 19 yrs ago or how deep yer pockets are. I have been ridin' em 50 yrs, was hooked at 8 yrs old.

Good luck, don't be afraid to offer less either ...

I must of gotten lucky, but I guess that makes sense. like the guy in the video said, the one sled the owner had it like 8 years and he just used it to haul fishing gear to lake and back to his house on a trail back and fourth, that's about it. The other one was just owned by a old couple that used it on trails.

Had zero issues with them, thank goodness. I was not as well off as I am today.

I just plan on the Kal-Haven trail from Gobles to South Haven, around the subdivision & on the lake up in Michigan (my inlaws have a lake house) back in Chicago we have a forest preserve grove they let you ride in

Good buddy of mine shot this video, Brent Veideman. He did a whole series of "Boost" videos starting around 2007 in Revelstoke BC. This one would have been on a 2008 or so Yamaha turbo Apex. 1000cc or so unit. You can pick these up used for about $4k Canadian. Heavier unit but will pull smooth for days. I rode that area for years until I found myself in the bottom of what they call the toilet bowl and had to walk out. Haven't ran in the mountains since.

I have two Ski Doos that belong to my son that have been sitting in my shed for a couple of years, one w/reverse one without, both pull start. If someone wants them $1000 takes them both. I am in East Tennessee.
