I own a camaro 78 LT RS and I plan to put 70-73 Z28 stripes on my car. I don't want to paint them on because I can't.
So, I ve found decals to put on. Decals are made by Autografics. There are several width available for RS stripes like they call them. But I'd like to know the width of the original Z stripes to order them. And what'is the width beetween the two stripes?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks

    Wahoo,
Trunk stripes are 13.42" constant then .25" between main stripe and outline stripe with outline stripe being .25". Hood stripes are 14.75" at windshield and 11.06" at hood panel - with the same 1/4" outline stripe 1/4" out. Trunk stripes are 4.50" off center line and hood is 3.00" off center line.

That's some exceptional info there Jeraboa, I was about to ask this same question as my 70 is about to get a fresh coat. Are there any diagrams or detailed pics of the ends of the stripes that show the correct curvature?

It is all in the Assembly Manual for these Camaros. The Assembly Manual is about $20 at the restoration shops, well worth the money to get your paint job correct.

    406,
If you are going to paint these on, a stencil kit would be a good investment.

Well, I'm working with a very tight budget, and although a stencil kit is not much, I neet to put the money in more useful places. That said, this is not going to be a show car, it will be my daily driver, but I would like for it to look somewhat correct. If someone could post some close up pictures of the correct ends front and rear I can make it work from there.

Are the stencil kits right? For an RS?

Stencil kits are listed as RS and non RS for 70 - 73. Also which spoiler you have - one piece or 3 piece.

Right, I see how they are listed. What I am asking is if they are the correct width, length, etc as original. You know how repo stuff is sometimes [IMG]
