Has anyone tried an Edelbrock Performer RPM fuel pump on an 81 Camaro? The stock ones I get from Autozone, which are Delphi brand keep breaking. The lever pin will break loose from the housing. I wanted a fuel pump with the lever pin mounted from the outside so it won't pop out anymore.

It's a 327 small block with the stock clamshell motor mounts

So anyways I was just looking at the fuel pump area and not sure if there is enough clearance from the motor mounts. I appreciate any help. Thanks

Those have a adjustable bottom so you can "clock" where you want the inlets and outlets. Should fit fine.

There's a conversion plate that fits on the bottom.
But honestly, Don't use that pump. Even my old Edelbrock rep told me those were pieces of crap.

Same. No luck with edelbrock pumps and even clocked, clearance is iffy.
Try a Carter muscle car pump. Not expensive and reliable.

It has the return line but I can just block that off. I liked the lever pin design of the Edelbrock. It comes from the outside and the pin is totally encased on the inside as opposed to the OEM ones from autozone. Is there a good one similar to the Edelbrock? I looked up Carter and they have one that looks just like the Edelbrock but not shiny

No, keep it. it helps with vapor lock.

Carter shows these 2 for an 81. I'm surprised the 3 line is a large body. Is yours like that?
