Anyone know what the green wire does coming off the back of the wiper switch? Keeps blowing my gauge fuse. (Plugs into pink/black). I believe that runs to switched .

On my '70 RS, there is no green wire. Lite blue...dark blue...black. If it's blowing a fuse that typically means you have a direct short to ground.

1981 hidden, delay. I gotta change my screenname lol i was born in 72.

Yeah i understand its shorted but that pink/black stripe wire it plugs into i think goes straight to the fuse box (IGN). If not where else does it go? I dont wanna cut open my harness sigh....

Starting to think that the pink black wire doesn't connect to that green wire and someone just made it happen. pink black is usually ignition ? Green-ground? Just thinking out loud

Here’s the diagram for an 81 with delay…

I am curious also, my 80 Z28 has intermittent wipers and there is a green wire attached to the frame of the wiper switch. It is a small guage wire and I first thought someone added it.

From what i can tell there’s a special green wire that it attaches to then goes out to the wiper motor. I wish there was more documentation and pictures on the delay wiper motors and the circuit board as well as the harness.

The pink/black wire could be for the volt guage. The green wire goes from the back of the switch to the wiper motor. The best I can tell is that it was one long wire that is part of the switch itself.

When I bought my 80 Z28 it was already taken apart. So this is the best I could figure out. The wire at the switch had been cut and there was a long green wire with a push on connector and firewall grommet in the box of wiring.

Hope this helps
