If you have open USB ports there are cheaper options, just not sure how well they would stream games, you should be able to find one at best buy for around 15-20 bucks and then if that doesn't work well then go with the card type, and return it to BB

^ Yes, they work well!

I was hard wired forever... Until my ethernet port died on my desktop. :(

I drove to Best Buy and got one of those new-fangled USB wireless thingies.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704202

I just plugged it into the 'puter and I was back online with no setup required. :D

It comes with an extension cable so you can mount it where you can see the status light.
(I needed that cable because the USB ports are so close to each other on this machine it would block anything from being plugged into the USB port next to it.)

It's only 6 feet away from the wireless router so I really can't say anything about the range of reception.
I never noticed any difference in download speed but I don't do online multiplayer games or stream movies.

Will that work on a non smart tv too. I mean to pick up wireless from my gateway. I use a samsung blue ray with smart TV built in, but it drops the signal a lot. I see a usb port along with 2 HDMI and a regular coax for ant. on the side of the TV. My Samsung smart TV screen went black after flashing for a couple days. Still has sound. I just bought a regular Bigger TV and used the smart Blue ray but it is not the same. Too much lag time from the remote to change and it drops the signal and reboots to the Home page. Annoying. The Samsung was about 3.5 yrs old. POS.

Before you bash the Samsung, did you have your TV on a UPS? And I use my smart tv to watch Amazon and Netflix, all with the built-in wifi of the TV. Works great.

What is UPS? I just had it on WiFi. This problem with Samsung is common I spent around 400.00 for a smart TV that lasted a little over 3 years. The LEDs Burned out. The problem is they are in series. So if one or two burnout then the rest won't work. The T Con board was still good. And you know the power supply still works if you get sound. My old CRT TV that I replaced was over 10 yrs old and had a great picture but It was so big I thought I was getting something great to hang on the wall and free up some space.
