I use a Proform 664090 from Amazon to cut my filters with. I had to add a washer to make the blade less wobbly and more centered.

I still cringe when I see Made in Japan. I actually prefer Chinese made products over the Japanese stuff.

Why? They make superiors products by far.

Heck look at their cars versus the domestic junk.
You always see a real mechanic driving one for a reason...They don't want to work on their crap on the weekend.
I have a friend who "thinks" he's a mechanic. Drives a 04 chevy truck or so. Those were the last few good years of the chevys. Anything later are complete JUNK.

I have a big old pocket knife that I cut open filters. Would have been tough back in the day but pretty easy now. Big knife is handy for lots of stuff, scraping gaskets for another.
