Broke in my new 427sbc using a Wix racing oil filter . And after that have been using Moroso oil filters and their pre screen filters since then

The oil has been changed 4x's in the 2 years since the engine was installed and only 500 miles on it . The oil is clean and nothing showing in the pre filter either . Oil pressure is awesome with 85lbs max oil pressure and 50lbs warm idle

Just bought this one today. The Wix part number is 51061, this Napa one is 1061. Obviously same part, made at the same place.
I know others had said Wix was now made in China, but this one still says USA.

Orielly's Has them. I check their listings to compare the specs. Usually get the middle priced. Check the threads before you leave the store. My last purchase had poor machine work. The filter would screw on about a half turn and stop. Not even close to fully bottomed out on the rubber gasket. The people at Oreilly's were great. They opened a bunch to check. Turns out they had several that were no good.

51069 is the replacement for the AC PF25 (short filter)
51061 is the replacement for the AC PF35 (long filter)

For some reason, Chevy recommended the short filter for cars and the long one for pickups with the same engine. Either one should work.

Notice that the chart also lists the 57099 which is the replacement for the PF454 which is the short filter with anti-drainback valve and the 51060 which is the replacement for the PF1218 which is the long filter with anti-drainback valve.

The PF454 and PF1218 are not a good choice for old Chevy small block engines as upright filter position already takes care of drainback issues. (It isn't possible with the filter sitting upright). So adding an anti-drainback valve serves no purpose except to possibly restrict oil flow.

Thank you !
Does the 51061 stick out below the oil pan, or is it “safely nestled up in there “?

The WIX oil filter lookup calls for pn 51069 for my ‘79 w/ 350. Anyone know what the diff is ?
I believe the Napa/Wix 1060/51060/51060R are the same but taller versions of the 1069/51069/51069R.

Use the taller one if it fits
