My engine builder reccomends Wix racing or Moroso oil filter and for further protection I'm running these pre screen filters

I checked 7 different Wix filter numbers in my stock today. Six were made in USA the other in Mexico.

Can you end up with less filtering by using more filtering? I assume he suggests the racing filter because they filter a bit less- and drop less pressure while doing so, meaning more oil for the engine. If you put more filter in front of what surely is a high volume pump on your engine, do you just force into bypass more?

I really can’t see the reason for this. Why not just build the filter properly?

My only guess is it would make any large particles obvious when you change the filter, where a normal design filter hast to be cut open to inspect it for chunks.

And at the end of the day if your engine still has the stock bypass in place, your choice of oil filter is basically irrelevant.
