    In football - that was a "GREAT play" - no it wasn't, it was a good play - great plays are don't happen every game.

    It's a common baseball term. An actual wheelhouse is located on the bridge of a ship, where you steer it.

    I know what a wheelhouse is. I just think it's an stupid, over-used term to describe something related to whatever you do.

    "I'm just saying....", usually said after slamming what you just said to try to make your point irrelevant, or after someone just insults you, friends, family, etc. and then they try to make it like it's no big deal.

    I was specifically forbidden to use it when I was a rescue worker. Department policy was they could se the badge and uniform so it was redundant as well as some of the people we'd help didn't like the government.
