Hello all, I like this site. Lots of knowledge here. I am needing some help to clear my conscience. I traded a car purchased from my wife's aunt after her
husband passed away for my 1973 Z28. I gave her $7250.00 for that car with the understanding that if I sold it I would split the profit with her. So I in effect have $7250.00 in my Z28. I traded for the Z thinking it would be easier to flip, but I really like it and think I will keep it. So to make things right I need to give my aunt in-law some more money. I want to be fair but I don't know what the car is worth. It's not numbers matching and has lots of non original parts. Like headers, stereo, wrong color ect.
I would classify the car as a strong #3 on Haggerty's estimator. Very clean, looks good to general public but you guys could pic it apart. lol
Would really like some real world opinions not Haggerty's perfect world dream price. I am thinking car is worth around $12,500.00. Do you think I'm close? I want to be fair but realistic in what the car might actually bring.
Sorry for the long post but I thought it would help to know the story.
    thanks in advance.
    Cary

I'm guessing it's not an RS, you didn't mention it.
If it is a true Z, running and looking good, my opinion is it's worth more.
    $15-18, have pics?

Thank You Bigdav160 for adding the pic.
No its not an RS someone just added the split bumpers.
I know everyone wants accurate value. I looked at a bunch of threads but value hinges so much on the individual car because of all the variables.
There are several pics in my photobucket in the Z28 folder.

I am just looking for a general feel. Like I said your opinion. I know it's only worth what someone would pay for it.

You fixed it, nice looking ride.

Don't think you got hurt at $7250. Like you say, there are so many variables, it's hard to give an accurate appraisal value. It just all depends on how determined the buyer is. Run it up the flag pole at 12.5 and see if anyone salutes, you can always come down but you can't go up.
