Looking specifically for 2020/2021 Malibu and found a 2020 Malibu with ~6100km / 3800miles. It has all the features I want, colour etc. It was a "previous daily rental car." Still has balance of factory warranty etc ... question is would you consider purchasing ? It's almost $10000 less than a new one.
When I was doing used car recon the rentals were in far and away better shape then the rest of the stuff we got in. I wouldn't hesitate at all.
Thats what we did for one of our kids cars. We have one more to buy and we will absolutely go that route if we can.
A couple friends and neighbors have bought ex-rentals (low mileage) and have been pleased. I think the days of a rental being second only to a new york taxi cab for being beat is past.
Rental car these days are better taken care of than the ones that we used to service from Avis and other places years ago. Yes I would get one for a killer discount.
Buy it! Warranty, low miles, well maintained. Make sure to check that it hasn't been in a big wreck, but the seller might provide carfax info on that.
Agreed, I'd say buy it! I worked for a rental car company over 20years ago and they looked after the cars very well. Any issues were repaired immediately and warranty recalls also addressed quickly.
Carfax is an OK tool, but you have to take a clean Carfax with a grain of salt. I saw a good number of units come through with a clean Carfax that had obviously been hit and repaired. It's only as good as the shops actually reporting the information.
Many cars that are purchased new by consumers are not nearly as well maintained as a rental car fleet (major car rental companies anyway). But take the time to look at what deals are out there on new 2020 leftover Malibu's first. You might be able to pick up a brand new Malibu for close to the same money (or possibly even less). An example: https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for...eCode1=CHEV&modelCode1=MALI&clickType=listing 10,500 off sticker for a brand new 2020.
