Don't laugh.... I'm hoping someone put headers on their car YEARS ago and they've finally come to the conclusion that they're never going to put the manifolds back on. 06 B Norwood built. I found one manifold barely sticking out of the root ball from the tree that had grown in the bare engine compartment, and it was dated E 5 0. Sold it before deciding to resurrect the car. Thank you. I have a very nice set of 1970 camaro exhaust manifolds i pull off my SS 350 camaro. They do not have the smog tubes. I will sell them both for $80 if your interested. I can email images
I'm not sure the casting numbers are the same, and I'd have to drill and tap them for the tubes. I do have a really capable machinist who could do it, but at what cost. If you want, send me a few photos. Thank you. Mike Munro [email protected] 518-526-3379
Casting numbers are different. I think non-smog numbers are'529 and '376. D&R makes a very nice set of repops: https://www.drclassic.com/catalog/Camaro/Exhaust/Z00302 Unless the dates are important, they look very close to the originals. The dates are on the underside (block side) and are very tough to see without a mirror of scope.
I thought I remembered reading that some time back. I am aware of the repops, but figured I'd pose the question. I've had original sets with other cars, and a set of 71 manifolds, which I think are harder to come across as a pair. I appreciate the input.
I have a pair off of my Camaro I will never use again 06A build date. These aren't drilled and tapped either. I'll let them go for the same $80.00 plus shipping if you are interested. I also have the heat risers. I would have to check numbers when I get home from work.
Mike, Exhaust manifolds with 3942527 (LH) and 3946826 (RH) are for 1970 Z28 models. The exhaust manifolds on 1970 Camaro SS350 models were 3942529 (LH) and 3932376 (RH) until April 1970 or so and 3973432 (RH) starting about May 1970. I have a 3973432 RH manifold dated May 29, 1970 ("E 29 0"). Years ago I sold a 3932376 RH manifold dated April 22, 1970 ("D 22 0"). I also have a 3942529 LH manifold but I would have to check the date (probably late May 1970). I believe you want the 1970 Z28 exhaust manifolds. If you want the 1970 SS350 manifolds what date? Dave
Yes, the 70 Z28 manifolds are what I'm after, that's why I put the numbers I did in the heading. I know it's a long shot but.... My father always said I was born with a horseshoe up my a*# so I'm hoping it still has some mojo left. Again, thank you all for your input. Mike Munro 518-526-3379
