I spent 41 days in Hamburg NY.. just southwest of Buffalo on the lake shore.. and the lake effect snow was cranking for about 38 of those days.

it was enough snow to last a lifetime... it cured me:screwup:

The lake effect snow region is crazy. You can wake up to a perfectly nice, sunny day and wind up with 12" or more of snow in a few hours  I'll take my Hudson Valley snow over that any day

October through April is nice down here. Its 67 today. Great! I hate the snow and don't miss it at all. I didn't want to move to Florida, but I'm adapting. And I can drive my DWG and Camaro (when it gets down here) year round. Can't beat that!!

I do miss the snow, just not having to shovel off the sidewalk. My girls would love to have a snowstorm in Houston again.

I would rather it be 80 than 40 anytime.

Don't mind the snow or the cold. It's the clean up that sucks. Was up in binghamton yesterday and got my first taste of winter.. Just tuned in to the Christmas music station and kept on cruisin...lol

Ice storm we had in 2008, killed most everyone's power (including ours) for two weeks and some longer than that. We literally had no heat for two weeks since our heat depending on the electricity to run.

generators and gas heaters were sold out everywhere it was a sucky moment in history around our area.

My wife's cousin who was chief of police at the time was killed in a freak accident where a icy tree limb fell on his head...killed him instantly. This was on the first day of the storm when he was off duty but out trying to help clear roads and trees. I can remember wife getting the phone call in the dark livingroom (no electricity) when it happened.

Don't want to go through ANY of that again :(

I picked a hell of a time to move back to the Great Plains. I'm ready for spring already.
