just curious how everyone installs trim rings with out denting them ?
I install my rings with the tire off the car.
I let some air out of the tire, use just a bit of dish soap on the clip for lube, a thick towel and rubber mallet. Just tap each clip into place, sometimes moving from one clip to the next in a circular pattern (take your time). Then I mount the tire, let the car down and air the tire back up.
Doesn't hurt to have an extra set of hands to hold the trim ring when installing.
I'm sure you'll get several methods of installation.
I use the palm of my hand. If it won’t go on then I let 1/2 the air out.
Like the others here, I first let some of the air out of the tire. With the tire soft, I push each clip firmly onto the rim using a large flat screwdriver. Push directly on the clip, never on the ring itself. Once you have all the clips firmly seated, put proper air back in the tires.
thanks always open to new ideas
