Hey all.
Had a 71 with a 3 wire charging system roll in and it had the pins on the alternator plug (#1 and #2) reversed.
It was in to install a one way diode on the 12 volt key on feed as he was installing an MSD and it was supplied and recommended for use by MSD.
I noticed when I unpluged the 2 wire plug.. position 1 and 2 were reversed.
Usually Pin #1 is Gen light and #2 is Battery Voltage.
When under 15 volts between those two connectors, the Alternator begins to charge.
I thought that little regulator was phase specific...
I checked and the idiot light was functioning correctly .
Am I correct to assume that the wires to the voltage regulator plug will operate in both/either orientation ?
Hoping one of our electrical gurus can enlighten me on this!
Thanks All
