I was thinking about fixing my broken arm rest hinge on my console. I thought piano hinge would be nice but, how to fasten it? It would look nice to have the type of hinge w/o screw holes and use some kind of bad ass glue but, I don't know. Those were just my thoughts. Give me a better idea if you have one. If you've done this job on your car, I'd really appreciate some pics of yours and how you did it.
Thank you.

I think the heads of the pop rivets will not sit flush in the countersunk screw holes and therefore the piano hinge wont close properly-try to get screws with the heads made for countersunk holes and should work perfect

You might have a point there. I just like the idea of how a rivet is held on the backside. I haven't taken the compartment out but, it seems like the plactic its made from would be pretty thin for a screw to fit reliably. Maybe a guy could use the rivets and grind them flatter if the heads interfere with the door closing properly.
Another thought I had is to use a countersunk bolt instead of a screw. That way it could have a nut and washer on the backside.
IDK. I haven't started the project yet so, I'm still open to suggestions.
Thank you.
