I have a buddy of mine making up some support plates to weld to the lower side of my contol arms to support QA1 coilovers. i was just wondering if any body needed something like this i am sure I can get them made cheap. they are going to weld in on the bottom side of the spring pocket so they distribute the weight back out to the area it belongs. Let me know if there are anyone that is interested or if anyone thinks this wont work.

Sounds like a good idea, and ought to sell. You might consider putting the plate on the upper side of the LCA and have it sit right in the spring pocket. That way, if the welds break, it will still hold together.

I am going to have him make mine out of 1/4 " steel plate. I plan on using the bolts tohold it in place then welding all the way around the pocket. So i dont think the welds should break. Not only that it shouldnt have any load on it anyways. it is just something to make sure that the springs dont blow throug the control arm cruising down the highway.

Thats what I did to my lowers when I mounted the QA1's I used a peice of .125 cold rolled and tig welded it to the bucket kinda contoured and added some 3/8 spacers .400 lonr to allow the heim on the shock to still move freely.. took about 2 hours for both I'd think .250 would be over kill but its up to you.
