7J14 is a date code

7 = year ending in a 7, 77 or 87?
J = month built - Sept
14 = day built in Sept

The rest I have no idea. If you cannot find more numbers then I can't be of more help. The interchange has 1000's of distrubutor numbers and the page thru look for 4 of probably eight total digits is a chore.

Are you sure its a GM part?
6 or 8 cylinder dist?

here's what I find the has the 0696, they often only put the last 4 digits of a part nubmer on the part.

1110696 1978 Malibu 200 6 cylinder

I can find no others that are even close but my interchange on goes to early 80's so anything after 1980 is not to well covered in my version.
