Is there any way to replace the felt on the door window retainer / guide . It's the piece that mount's on the inside top of the door ( two per door ) that the window slide's on as it goes up and down . When the felt wear's out, the window start's getting a scratch mark in it . Where can I get the felt from that has an adhesive back ?

I heard that the fuzzy side of a velcro strip works great. You can get it with a self adhesive backing but I think an epoxy would be a better adhesive.

I have used generic carpet that I cut into strips to fit the retainer guide. The same type of carpet that you would use to cover speaker boxes etc. I have had mine on my camaro for about four years and they have not worn out. The adhesive I used was called Seal-All and has worked very well in holding the carpet to the metal guide. It comes in a yellow and red tube and can be bought at any auto parts store.

I bought a kit (from NPD, I believe) that had the new rubber strips inside and out, and included new felts for the window guides. Had all the little clips and fit well.

I went to a dismantling yard last weekend and found a couple of low mileage chevy's that the felt was in mint condition (especially on the passenger side). I just removed them, turned them around so the best part would rub on the window and glued them on my retainer's . Just like new, and it didn't cost a cent
