My 75 Camaro's fasten seat belt light and buzzer want go off, like it did for over 30 years. It suppose to come on for 15 seconds (guessing ) and the buzzer would stop and light would go out. Does anyone know the part number #s to that switch or where I can find a new one . And where is it located?

75 is a different design and different wire colors too.

There doesn't appear to be a separate timer either. But.... It IS connected to the seat switch in a 75.

If I'm reading the diagram correctly.....
If the seat switch fails, the buzzer won't get power.

You can find the buzzer/timer by tracing the yellow/black and yellow wires from the seat belt light back to the buzzer.
From there... the solid yellow wire should lead you to the seat switch.

If you jump the two connections at the switch and the buzzer works normally, the problem is the seat switch, not the buzzer.

If you get power to the buzzer (solid yellow wire) when you first turn the key, the problem is the buzzer.

I believe the number is 6258257. (It should be on the back of the buzzer.)

Search ebay by part number for a replacement.
(Both the buzzer and seat switch are currently available on ebay.)

Good Luck!

Fasten Seat belt/ light and Buzzer

I have a shop manual some where, need to get cross over ,part numbers. The defective part is a round metal ,3 prong switch half the size of a flasher. About the size of a condenser on the distributor, 3 male spaded prongs no wire. unplugged it and the light (fasten seat belt, and the buzzer turned off. Its a thermal switch with heat up and opens , so normally closed.

Possibly something like this could be made to work?

http://www.grainger.com/product/5WML9?cm_sp=HIO-_-HIDP-_-RR_VTV70300505&cm_vc=IDPRRZ13

I'm not sure how to wire it but it's adjustable to replicate the factory timing.
(Mine is about 5-6 seconds and fades out at the end.)

BTW.... If you shut the car off right after the buzzer stops and you restart it right away... The factory timer will still be warm and won't buzz.

This type of timer should buzz every time and will probably cut the buzzer abruptly (it's a switch) because it's time dependent instead of relying on a heat element.

It's your lucky freakin' day. :D
I found a picture with some clues!
This is the same type of timer but it's being shown for use in a home wiring system.

For 12V DC it should be the same... I think?
Here's what I make of it....

Your buzzer and light are the load (pins 1 & 3)
Pins 6 & 7 are ground and a 12V IGN connection.

I don't know if you need pin 2.

(I may be completely wrong. We need someone with more electronics background than I to look this over.)
