I haven't other than playing with the pressure which doesn't drop off during the problem.
I tried it last night and on 2 pulls it was perfect, the car wasn't quite up to temp and it was a little cooler than it has been.
Sooo now I'm thinking with the way I closed off the engine compartment with all the Alum. I may be getting vapor lock from all the heat.Todays trial and error will be a heat shield on the carb and anywhere that the line may be close to the exhaust which are all in the same place as last year so I don't think it's the lines.I'd put a cool can in if I could find a spot to mount it in the engine bay but that could be tough without making major changes to the lines.

First of all...
Is the prob completely random,or is there ANY kind of pattern?
Second..
Do you have a voltmeter onboard?
In that case what does it say at WOT?
Third..
Check out my post;"try this one for size".
What i mean by that is that do you for instance run enough ground wires and of adequate size?

The prob does have some consistancy in that at the track it's only 1st gear above 4000rpm.I haven't looked at the volt meter at wot but will and see if it does anything funny.
As for the ground wires nothing has changed there since last year and I didn't have the problem then but I do use the frame for a ground instead of running one from the rear to the front.I will read your post right away.

have u done a leakk test on your intake ,carb gasket ect........
stick a compound meter 2 it, see where ur HG is at....
i know u like the NOS 2nd check your timing ..... might be your late!!!if your 2 retard might just cause the hesitation

stress from the juice might have moved your total also .. double check...check your retard system if u have 1.......a HEI has limited potential it wont allow to find the weak spots

I've used propane for a leak test on the carb and intake and the idle stayed the same.As for the ign. I've gone from the Mallory to the hei 3 or 4 times with no change. And I haven't touched the Nitrous once yet until I sort out the miss I'm afraid too.

VERY WISE MOVE!!!!!!

Craggar might want to try something. A friend was experiencing a similar problem and went through the same as you and I, change ignition, change this, change that... This weekend he dumped a jug of 110 octane fuel in it and cranked timing up(40)and the miss disappeared,, and he set a new personal best with the car. Just something to think about.

I did kinda try that Marv except I used C12 and only got 2 passes on it before I used the rest to drive home.I can't say for sure if it had a chance to work or not since there was some fuel in the tank already but after putting the Mallory Ign. back in I bumped the timing up to 38 while I still had a little fuel left and it worked great but it's done that before leading me to believe it was gone only to find out when I got to the track it was back.I may try that again with less fuel in the tank just to see.
Racing I checked the amp gauge last night while going through the rpm range and it stayed at a constant 14.
